John McCluster joined the BDI roofing Group in 2015 as a Roofer on one of BDIRG ’s Production Crews. He is dependable, exceptionally hard-working, versatile, and a very skilled tradesman. We asked John a few questions to help our customers get to know him a little better.
How did you get into the Roofing industry?
I started in the Roofing Industry 42 years ago at the tender age of 18. I was trained as an old-school built-up roofer, mopping hot asphalt, year-round. Man, how the industry has changed since I started!
Describe your role at BDI roofing Group?
I fill a number of roles at BDI roofing. The majority of my time, is spent working as a Senior Roofer on one of our Production Crews. We’ve got a really skilled crew that can install any specified system. I am also the lead driver on my crew. And, when we are extremely busy, I’m called on to supervise the installs on some of our projects.
What do you like most about your job?
The people at BDIRG is what make this a special place and why I have remained here for more than 15 years. The company is like family!
What is your favorite memory of working at BDI roofing Group?
My favorite memory is when I was honored as the BDIRG Employee of the Year in 2017.
Tell us about your family?
I’m blessed with a loving family that includes four sisters and a brother.
Do you have any hobbies?
In my free time, I enjoy fishing but my greatest joy comes from attending Church.
What is your favorite sports team?
I enjoy all sports and I watch all of the Atlanta teams but my favorite is the Braves.
