Ricky Helvey

Ricky Helvey serves as our Senior Commercial Estimator and brings more than 22 years of experience in the construction industry, including nearly 10 years focused on roofing. His career has included construction material sales, estimating, operations, project evaluation, and pre-construction planning, giving him a comprehensive and well-rounded foundation in his role.

Ricky specializes in commercial roofing systems, including re-roof and recover applications, specialty roofing systems, and complex project scopes. He oversees the commercial estimating department, guiding pricing strategy and scope development to ensure estimates are accurate, competitive, and aligned with client expectations. His attention to detail, clear communication, and ability to develop practical solutions for challenging conditions have been key to his leadership within the estimating team.

Ricky is most passionate about improving processes and building strong teams. He takes pride in creating efficient systems that position projects for long-term success, believing in winning work the right way through integrity, discipline, and thoughtful planning. His approach ensures projects are set up for success long before work begins in the field.

Outside of work, Ricky and his wife, Alex, enjoy serving at Watkinsville First Baptist Church and spending time with their four children, Tillie, Price, Flint, and Sullivan. A lesser-known fact about Ricky is that he began his career working hands-on in the field on site clean-up crews, carpentry, and field supervision, experience that gives him a practical, real-world perspective behind every estimate he prepares.
